Hi guys and gals, I am looking to buy a new SLR as i have decided i really want to take photography to the next level. I have been taking amateur photos for many years but want to do it professionally. I currently have a Canon EOS 350d camera but am looking to upgrade and was wondering whether to buy a Canon 40d or Canon 50d. I also want to know what lenses are good (not too expensive) as i have a wedding to photograph in December and i am their only photographer and want to make sure i take the best possible photographs. I don't know much about how to use the creative features on a camera, only the pre sets. I would like if possible for someone who lives nearby to perhaps speand a day or two training me on how to make the most of my camera and its features. I am no good at learning through written material and prefer hands on experience. Can anyone help me???? If you want any more info, please message me. Thanks in advance!!! xxx

They were very close, 1 was so close i smelt the field burning lol! I was in my car by then though!

2 more pics i took near my home. 1 of these actually set a house on fire which i saw in person... bit close for comfort!! lol!

Pictures taken with a filthy lense unfortunately as not sure how to clean it?! There are some raindrops on the lense too. Am well impressed with being able to catch the strikes though!

Hopefully we'll have some more storms this year so i can get out and catch some more! I want one of those spectacular evening ones that light up the cloud within as well as displaying fork lightning!

Lol yeah! I was amazed when i got it.. had to trail through loads of pics to find that 1! I was so happy.

Yeah unfortunately it was a point and shoot on multiburst on a landscape setting. I did try bulb setting but always a white screen. lol

My 1st ever lightning pic... what do you think? I took over 300 shots to get this one as i couldn't get my settings right on my Canon 350d for daytime storms... always a white screen... but it was worth it to get this one!
