  1. Still snowing here in Haywards Heath, blowing around in the wind and all looking very impressive. Must be a good few inches level snow outside with some drifting but I haven't ventured out yet.
  2. Is the ppn out to the SW of Cornwall the stuff that could impact the SE tomorrow? It looks like it's getting itself organised quite nicely at the moment...
  3. Light but convincing, I like that... Much the same here in Haywards Heath!
  4. A pretty decent snowfall in Haywards Heath today. I'd estimate around 3 inches - pre December 2010 I would have been ecstatic about that but nothing quite matches up to the foot of snow we had a couple of years back. Still, I'm very grateful to have seen snow today when others haven't been so lucky - here's hoping that the whole region gets dumped on on Sunday
  5. Good to see someone else from Haywards Heath on here! Hoping for some real snow tonight after last night's disappointment...
  6. Tried and failed to get to Bognor Regis by train this morning. Got as far as Three Bridges but everything's being cancelled pretty much. Another couple of inches here in HH overnight - certainly more than I was expecting. Bit of a pain really but no point getting upset about it!
  7. I'm supposed to be going from Haywards Heath to Bognor Regis by train tomorrow morning for a PGCE interview - does anybody know whether I'm likely to make it in or not?
  8. Just got back from a holiday in the States and it's really bizarre to see that Haywards Heath has as much snow as the bit of Vermont that I was staying in! A good 7 inches here, it's starting to thaw but we've had snow on and off all day, moderately heavy at times. Quite nice to come back to!
  9. Ok, the radar might be a bit crappy then. I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I just think a lot of places will see rain, sleet or wet snow which will only speed up the thaw, as opposed to snow that settles on top of what people already have. I'm entirely happy to be proved wrong though!
  10. The amount of snow in the band of precipitation seems to be diminishing though... I'm guessing that a few areas will get a lot of snow, most will have any snow currently lying washed away by rain or sleet and that almost everybody will have a lot of ice to deal with in the morning. My link
  11. Light rain in Haywards Heath ahead of the band approaching from the west. Still not expecting anything substantial to be on the ground come morning but this piddly little shower is irritating nonetheless
  12. Expecting nothing more than sleet/rain here in West Sussex which will no doubt wash away the remainder of the snow left over from Thursday night. Isn't it funny how no matter how well we do, we're never satisfied? This is without a doubt the best cold spell I have experienced in England during my 24 years - 5 inches of snow on Thursday, another dusting last night and with no thaw whatsoever until today, and yet I'm still gutted that it looks like it's coming to an end! Never mind, off to New York and Vermont for ten days over New Years P.S. Awful conditions around the M25/M26 coming back from Kent this afternoon, felt even worse when I got home to find we'd had rain.
  13. Glad you got some! It's fantastic here, hoping to get out in it later on. Had a bit of a sketchy moment in the car last night, it's my first time driving in snow, so that's been interesting! Anyway, have a good day - hope you get more a bit later on
  14. Yes indeed Jason, I'm much more of a lurker than a poster these days but on an occasion like this, you pretty much have to log in and happily gloat don't you?! How much did you get in Eastbourne?
