  1. Methuselah was just pondering whether it may clip the Suffolk coast, will have my answer in an hour
  2. @Jo Farrow now Saturday looks like PERFECT outside drying conditions in the south east, I'll definitely be doing at least two loads and drying outside then!
  3. *Stormforce~beka* yip that's the problem, if you're time starved having to faff about putting stuff outside only to then have to hang it inside doesn't really work. Totally understand the sentiment behind this whole idea but probably a great example of the difference between theory and practice!
  4. *Stormforce~beka* It didn't dry properly had to hang it inside to finish, did dry a bit but after five hours outside was still quite wet. Doh!
  5. As interesting and noteworthy as this wet spell is, my interest is in what happens next. At some point this spell of wet weather will end, what I'm intrigued by is how long before a similar or even wetter spell appears. Irrespective of one's beliefs regarding climate change and it's causes, many predicted that a warmer atmosphere would result in higher rainfall. With our proximity to the Atlantic and island location I'm really fascinated by potential climatic changes. With no scientific basis whatsoever I've a hunch that we may have a dry hot summer, I hope I'm wrong about the hot bit as I'm useless once it gets above 18c at night for any length of time, but I've a feeling that we'll have a 'good' summer and then a return to monsoon season from October. Be interesting to see how things pan out.
  6. Jo Farrow Fair play to you then. Hopefully it'll dry up soon and more can do the same
  7. Jo Farrow have you had a drier than average winter and do you run your washing machine overnight to be able to put clothes out first thing?
  8. Jo Farrow where do you live to be able to do that? Genuinely interested to know and not being deliberately argumentative. Believe me we've had to get a dehumidifier to take away moisture from the home in part due to clothes drying inside. I've found with myself and other half both working full time, a newborn and the atrocious weather this winter it's just not been practical at all for us to consider drying outside and that's living in the supposedly drier part of the country.
  9. Andy Bown Lol the no rain was my point. Obviously dry winter air is good for laundry etc but in this relentless wet pattern it seems such an article is poorly timed at best...
  10. Is this an early april fool? Wettest winter since.... And we're being encouraged to dry clothes outside???
  11. The beast in 2018 delivered 28cm level snow in Ipswich at 120ft asl. Drifts in town were over 60cm with outlying rural areas significantly deeper. Don't recall it being deeper than that since I moved to Suffolk in 2006
