  1. Well we are at 100mm for rain for March and from the deluge we had this morning you can call it 120mm so we will end March of receiving double the amount of our average rainfall for Exeter, this has happened several times since autumn…if only we could get stick under perpetual high pressure so easily as we do low pressure and we wouldn’t moan so much… Can someone please give us a ‘ray’ of light that this awful pattern will abate in April please?
  2. I honestly didn’t think last spring could be beat in turns of how bad the weather was, we can only hope that the second half of april warms and dries up and that we don’t have to wait until mid May to see temps above 70f, surely not again?
  3. *Stormforce~beka* probably someone from netweather forum who was tired of seeing rain on the radar
  4. Eskimo we are over our average already of 62mm, we are at 79mm for March so far in Exeter and I would be shocked if we don’t exceed 100mm for the month after several 100mm+ months , it really has been an incredibly wet autumn and winter, spring has started out on the same footing. I’m desperately hoping we will have warm, dry and sunny weather the second half of spring and all of summer and a warm dry sunny autumn to make up for this wet and dull weather we’ve had for several months, it’s needed.
  5. raz.org.rain well at least we can’t take it personally then
  6. cheeky_monkey its true which is why I don’t believe Plymouth sunshine figures, either that or ours hasn’t been updated on the Exeter Wikipedia page in years as there’s no way Plymouth records more sun than Exeter annually. Mind you the record monthly temperatures on the Exeter Wikipedia page are out of date anyway so wouldn’t surprise me.
  7. danm it usually is, Exeter seems to have a rain shadow around it hence why our annual rainfall figures are quite a lot lower than surrounding areas, I can only presume Dartmoor to our west has something to do with it
  8. danm it has been raining all day but lightly here, windy though and very cool, according to Exeter airport it’s recorded 7mm so far
  9. danm MP-R This was our stats in Exeter for May and June last year, comfortably warm temperatures and lots of sun from mid May onwards, the first part of May was cool and fairly dull, the later half of the month really boosted the sunshine stats up. The heating is well and truly on tonight, it’s feeling chilly, looked at the latest gfs run and it’s unrelenting rain the next 2 weeks, we can only hope the models change their tune. This surely must been one of the wettest periods since records began the past 6 months or so surely?
  10. I remember Atlantic 252 it’s what happened last May when our nice weather started mid May and was unrelenting with warmth and sunshine for 6 weeks, loved it. I’m keeping everything crosssed for us all to have some glorious weather soon, we certainly deserve it. It’s always sad to me when one part of the uk is enjoying the nice weather whilst another part isn’t, I’d like us all to have a lovely spring and summer
  11. Some eye candy for those of us who are sun and warmth starved on the latest gfs, hopefully our luck is about to change in April, certainly deserve it.

  13. B87 I’m ok with rain but a little below average or in the form of overnight deluges to water the plants/wildlife etc. Hopefully every month is well above for sunshine. this is the young with our climate, at least in many parts of USA they know they’ll have a warm sunny summer, with our climate it’s really a roll of a dice sometimes
  14. NEVES SCREAMER you are perfectly within your right to say how you feel, many of us agree, it has been unprecedented the amount of duller and wetter months we’ve had the past year surely?
  15. LetItSnow! god I hope not! We only got one decent month last year during summer…hoping April changes our fortunes, we certainly deserve it…we can’t keep on getting relentless low pressure for time and memoriam, hopefully we get relentless high pressure soon
