Mega storm just through here in Shrewsbury. Watched it come in from a hill south of town with lots of sheet lightening. Couple of ICs too. Then scampered back home trying to beat the rain but got clobbered in the car as we could see more ICs around.
Rain was epic with some high winds at the peak. Heavy Rain through now and watching the flashes at it heads north and east.
Quite a show and good as we really had nothing here in 2022 so far.
Noted the chat on what schools might do with this heat. My daughters secondary school up here in Shropshire where it’s not predicted to be highest already today sent an email out today informing kids to come in PE kit all this week. Pretty strict on uniform normally.
Sensible
Squall line just through Cromer (here on holiday) and accompanied by heavy hail and a rumble or two of thunder. Madness for 10 mins.
Just as was getting a flood warning call from the EA for back in Shrewsbury where we are heading for major flooding for the third consecutive year….
Not under the red warning here in Shrewsbury but a a raft of schools have been making the call to close overnight (last day of term today and half term next week)
A solid idea really to avoid a potential issue during the day.
AFC Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest on Friday night... If that's on good luck to those traveling to the game from Nottingham though the worst of the winds
Pretty sure that will get canned if there is a red warning!
We just hard a third storm of the day but started to really kick off north of town and just hearing distant rumbles...
Still three small shows, some mega Hail and cracking across the sky lightening today which was none to bad!
