  1. Managed to get out to Park Hall this afternoon, the wind was bitter which put me off taking any photos. Did get these on the way though, not often you see this
  2. Not a flake here too! Literally see where it's opened up and moved around Stoke on the radar
  3. The story of this week! I blame it on me being on annual leave. When we had all that snow earlier on in the winter I was on nights and missed it all then..
  4. Just waiting for this band of showers to collapse and evaporate as they cross the limits of Stoke Would be a nice covering before tonight's frost if they hold together!
  5. Been lurking on here for a bit and thought I'd find my old login to say hi! It's been a frustrating few days in Stoke as the others have said, especially when my home town of Macclesfield got plastered yesterday! Managed to get out to Consall this morning though, which was a winter wonderland even if the snow was on the sparse side
  6. Just been into town for a few drinks. Easily the coldest night in a fair while on the way. Car on my lift back was showing -3C but felt a lot lower really.
  7. Not sure how much is up there, but in macc we probably had around 4 inches Thursday and Buxton has got something rediculous so I'd imagine theres a fair amount drifting around up there. I heard the local roads were temporarily closed today due to drifting.
  8. Thanks guys. Trouble I find with Teggs Nose is its always packed with people going sledging. They were parking a half mile either side of the carpark when I drove past the other week. Macc forest up to Shutlingsloe is another good one, but again seems to be everyones favourite place this side when I've been up there mountain biking just lately.
  9. If you can get up there, park at the Cat and Fiddle and then walk out towards Shining Tor and Cats Tor (great views over Cheshire and Manchester if its clear), then you can either retrace your steps or drop down into Goyt Valley. Did that walk in the snow we had 2 weeks ago and there was plenty up there after a smaller snowfall. Couple of pics from then. https://flic.kr/p/qPHTBh https://flic.kr/p/qRWmvs
  10. For those in East Cheshire, the council have allowed people to view the realtime tracking of the gritters, so if you're wondering where they are check on here http://www.cheshireeasthighways.org/Roadworks-Centre/Gritting/Large-gritter-tracking-map.aspx
  11. Wow, last checked this thread at 17:30 last night on page 96, think I can tell the theme of the following 54 pages. Impressive. I have say I really do know how those in the west of our region feel, after working in the Ellesmere Port area last night. Such a stark contrast driving back along the M56 where we suddenly found the motorways white approaching the M6 junction. Took me just under an hour to get home from Wilmslow after I realised how bad my car is in snow... Was certainly glad to see my bed at 04:30 after having to walk the final bit as the side roads were awful.
  12. Either someones just crashed driving down the hill or we might have a bit of Thundersnow! Heavy snow and the winds got right up again.
  13. Really came down about 20 min ago. Seems to of ended now bar the odd flake. Just over 5cm by looks of things. Not bad considering there was nothing at 4am this morning. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/20843-/
