  1. 4cm accumulated on garden wall now. Arnold, Nottingham. Dew point still -1 according to the app., but don't know how accurate it is!
  2. Been snowing very fine snow here in north Nottingham for past 3 1/2 hrs. Over 3cm accumulated on the garden wall, all surfaces covered. Looks like we might get another hour or so out of this, with a heavier band at the end. Hope it stays as snow. My weather app has been showing 0c temps and dew point -1 for the past hour or so.
  3. Arnold, Nottingham temp 1 degree, dew point -1 - (according to my App)
  4. Heavy snow here for the past couple of hours in north Nottingham, but no chance of settling. The kids have just got home from school soaked to the skin.
  5. Just got back from a pretty uneventful trip to Stourbridge and back. Some snow fell just to the west of Brum city centre (quite impressed by the amount of lying snow they still have there), but it had turned to rain by the time Iwe got to Stourbridge. Saw no precipitation on th eway back until ashby area, but even then it was only sleety. Got back to Nottingham to see we have just started getting a dusting. The interesting thing is it seems to have formed an icy crust on previously clear areas. Looks like is it going to be very marginal for some tonight, I can already sense the let down.
  6. When are we due to see the heaviest snowfall? At the moment I have to go to the West Midlands and back between 5.00 and 8.00pm. Its not looking good for the return trip at the moment as I presume it is going to be pretty heavy up the M42 7.00-8.00pm.
  7. I think the general forecast is for it to die down as the precipitation comes in, we may get the odd flurry but nothing too extensive from it.
  8. I presume that's the lump of precipitation coming over the channel from around the Channel Islands at the moment.
  9. Beautiful blue sky contrasting with the whiteness below this morning. Only problem is the snow is starting to drop off the trees, so I thought I would capture the view from my office window (home worker) before it was gone.
  10. Are we due to get any of this stuff that's coming in off Cardigan Bay?
  11. If you go to "More Reply Options" you should have a button at the bottom of the box which says "Choose Files..." - use that.
  12. Looks like it snowed continually from about 10pm last night until now. Though we are now on the bottom of the radar band. Overall 13cm lying snow in total, with melts and compaction over the past week, we must have had around 20cm overall this week. Was in Ashby yesterday where it snowed continually from 9am throughout the day - couldn't believe it when we got back to Nottingham at about 5pm and it basically hadn't snowed all day. Ah well! Good things come to those who wait - the kids have finally got a snow day from school.
  13. The last intensification has pushed the accumulated up to over 9.5cm meaning 5.5-6cm so far today here on the garden wall - and still it comes. Anyone got a wind direction reading at the moment?
