I can confirm it's windy on Cairngorm!

When are the men in white coats coming to take you away to the funny farm? As that is one of the most nuts things I have ever seen anyone do for weather watching.

Did you ever see anyone for miles? Kind of surprised the road was even open.

The winds are pretty strong across the NE region too albeit no where near as bad as across the border.  It's been pounding the office windows for a good few hours here but appears to be dying back somewhat.  The noise early hours this morning was like a freight train running through the whole house!  God only knows what it's like across Shetland at the minute.

To be fair as far as wind storms go this is a fairly strong one from an IMBY point of view although just some trees felled etc and not the destruction that there is further north.  Stay safe peeps!

There were quite a few people up there actually, and even the bar/restaurant is open at the base!

You'd had been popular if you had to be rescued unless your part of a rescue team.

As has already been noted, if it was considered too dangerous they would have closed the road, and wouldn't have opened the shop/cafe either.

Some fantastic showers racing across the Irish Sea today on the weeble of Gertrude, could hardly stand on the cliffs.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
