http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/arome.php

Run this through and you can see that AROME develops a second low that clips the far SW early on Sunday. Produces some snow for areas around Weymouth northward to near Bristol and as far west as Plymouth - the focus over high ground of course.

The flow off the Channel is too strong for CS England so it's a loss here compared to a weaker low keeping the flow more easterly... or maybe not given how often the models keep precipitation going for too long in the face of cold, dry air from the E or NE.

I'm digging for scraps basically.

Meanwhile ECM keeps the midweek potential just about within the range of visible outcomes:

So we can't quite put that to bed and move on, as much as that would be easier on the nerves! The above, though, would probably be momentary snow, then rain, then a little back-edge snow if we're lucky. That's unless the rain rates were particularly high (light winds permit evaporative cooling).

What a vile morning, heavy wet sleet, yuk!

It seems even Knocker has decided to take a day off, stay indoors, out of the wet. I take my hat off to him though, training Sidney to take the pics for him must have taken a huge pile of nuts.....

With a lot of luck, maybe it will by tomorrow. Quite fancy a snowy walk in Stockhill woods & sunday lunch at Priddy.

It is frustrating how close we are to a snow day! I just fear we will run out of any meaningful ppn by the time it is cold enough maybe?

I'ld go with this . I just shipped the family off to town and against the black car I could see snizzle. Been raining all morning though and now little specs of snow floating around so it's trying - Just failing!

I've reached the conclusion that all those Bronze Age sites around here have nothing to do with defence, it's just that they were snow lovers. 200m high enough for reliable snow? Nope. 250m? Nope. Solution......build a hill and live on the top. I reckon our best bet is to encourage a new lead mine and offer to take all the spoils.....build me a gurt big hill.

Would you object if I built my house on top of the old roman hill fort? :D Might lay a few more meters foundation to be safe.

Go for it. I'll wave from my perch atop the Priddy humps.

Mine says sleet or snow from midnight but all pretty light but I think your region has a better chance of seeing something meaningful looking at bbc graphics.

3C lowest temperature since midnight, now at a max of 4.4C. Mostly light rain on and off. Not remotely close to conditions for snow, regardless of dew point and WBFL.

Brrrr, that NE wind is making it very bitter outside
5c, 980 hPa,  15mph NE, dry now
But, 5.6mm rain all between 5am and 10am this morning.

The forecasts are saying a low possibility of some wintry showers here this afternoon, so perhaps sleet?
