Those showers over Wales are going in the direction of the 850hPa wind vectors.

I'd imagine the Welsh hills/mountains must be getting a half decent covering from those. Sky looking very grey in that direction from my office in Aztec West.

I wonder if the border between rain & snow is actually that straight? ;)

Glad there has been a flurry up on the Mendips.

Just remember that should those showers over Wales be heading our way they're pretty likely to largely die out as per last Wednesday morning and many many times previously.

Rare situation this winter, the temperature has dropped through the afternoon despite sunshine.

Gary just about blinking sums up Winter 2015/16.

Move got a horrible feeling northerly/north easterly winds will arrive right when we don't want them, Spring!!

A very wet and not snowy Princetown earlier. :(

Had a sleet/hail shower the other side of Two Bridges though.

Interestingly, my car thermometer ( not accurate as such I know, but that's all I had when driving the narrow, wet roads of Dartmoor ) displayed 1c at Princetown and then only rose to 3c once I hit the A38 at Ashburton and only showed 5c at Newton Abbott.  Not bad for this part of the world.

Best hope is for the 20% chance of snow fall back home to materialise for Saturday now.  Going to be a long shot.

Saying that Northerlies in Spring has their benefits, where the sun is strong enough for Land convection, Northerlies can bring the whole package, Id love a slack Northerly spring, Land convective snow showers, hail, Thunderstorms, even thundersnow, i.e happened twice down here March 2007 and April 2008. They can be fun in spring Northerlies :D and Hailman Gary smiles and agrees with that xD

Hmm, I think come mid March and April, I'd rather some nice warm sunny days.

You were really unlucky as Dartcom near Two Bridges had heavy snow for a time this afternoon.

I'm currently watching a heavy sleet/snow shower moving to the north of me and looking at a webcam in Honiton the winds were very strong with gale force wind gusts in a few places!

Had a very nice heavy snow shower today at 1.00 pm. Proper big flakes and lasted about 30 minutes. Sadly none of it settled but at least I have now actually seen some snow falling this winter. :D

Was a lovely chilly spring like day. As soon as I got in the drizzle started accompanied by gusty winds

Drizzle is now heavier and more wintry. Radar shows snow to the West moving in. Is this winter at last? (For five minutes, but hey I'll tke it)

Yes, definite sleet here in Wells, guessing NK and Jethro have snow "up top?"

Yes some light snow falling although just missing the heavier ppn so nothing to show for it.

Interestingly, the temperature rose just before the latest shower which ment it was rain not sleet this time. :(

Just had another rain shower. I think the change from sleet to rain showers is definitely night related.

Not getting a good feeling about this weekend. Why do the cold uppers have to disappear just when there's an otherwise perfect snowmaking synoptic unfolding! I hope I'm wrong, but I think I will have to go to the Brecon Beacons to see snow.

Agreed.

We really need a day's feed, at least, from a cold, dry SE wind with temps struggling to get anything above 3c, before any slider hits.

Cold rain I reckon, with a bit of the white stuff over Cotswolds Saturday into Sunday.
