those in telford/shrewsbury area look like to get something in the next half an hour or so judging by the track- looks quite intense too!

It looks asif the showers are to cross the majority of the west side of the region too.

so it starts

As I posted this afternoon, interesting night ahead, I expect anywhere as far across as bham from the west to receive at least something, if not a couple of cms.

It doesn't matter really where the precip is atm, it just isn't cold enough though it clearly is 15 miles away. Looking at xc weather, I don't like the way the dewpoints seem to rise the further west you are. It's -4 at East Midlands, -1 at Shawbury and 0 at Sennybridge which is quite high up.

Snow it telford yea!!!

A nice covering starting, be interesting to see how these showers go. Cheshire Gap has provided some real surprises over the years.

Good luck all !!

Height definitely playing a part here, 160-180 meters above sea level in this part of Telford, on route to work this morning was snowing at top of the road and then pure rain 5 mins later by town centre (around 100 meters lower).

i think the dps are lower the further east you go because of cloud cover

I know sennybridge quite well with having trained up there with the TA- but even with a dp of 0 snow can still settle

80 or so ASL here, a power station, living in a ditch compared to surrounding areas.

It's going to be a sleety/rainy or very dry night. Off to bed shortly I think.
