Blimey, those waves are getting very close to swamping the hotel already!

Yeah already looks to be flooding the fronts of the hotels. This isn't good considering its 5 hours till land fall.

What's even worse is the amount of people there watching it, damn idiots even though they wont be hit by the eye its going to be god damn awful for the next 12 hours. Both streams are about 200 / 300 km's away from where the storm is going to make landfall.

They're not "damn idiots" either they know no better, are just fascinated and know no better or have little information. Tourists do weird things and get themselves killed, like going canyoning or river walking during or after storms. Locals may have had a hurricane before and think they know what to do, but not for this one. Some people, right at the poorer extremes of society (which in Mexico is quite a percentage) have no information and no shelter. My thoughts are with those folks tonight, my golf ball hailstones were nothing...

Nice twitter to follow..

Not "nice", maybe "interesting" as things progress...

What a lot of people need to remember there is a lot of poverty in mexico outside of the tourist areas and a lot of people do not have computers internet or phones and have no idea whats coming which is a massive concern i just hope the authorities  are able to get to these people

I can't see this live streaming webcam lasting long when Patricia makes landfall.

Yes that's the problem, the NE USA snow last winter was watchable all the time due to a) its a much more affluent place so a lot better technology available to more people and b) snow doesn't usually smash the webcam to smitherines wheras 200mph winds do!!

I don't think the live streaming will last long once Patricia hits!

I knew you would be watching this, surprised you didn't get a flight over there for it!

It's absolutely incredible that 24 hours ago this storm was nothing significant.

What a mysterious world we live in.

The powerful El Nino and +ve PDO certainly played a role. So much warm water across the eastern Pacific right now.

Quite happy watching Patricia on the live feeds... Certainly not one to bed messed with or underestimated!! I fear for those who have not evacuated, this isn't going to end well at all... Many people will have no idea of the force about to be unleashed.

The problem is these always hit poor areas plus we never get such severe weather, our weather is so boring, this is definitely a stonker if you like strong winds.

Think I would rather boring weather than a 200mph storm!
