The 06z GFS has the October CET at:

13.7C to the 1st (13.7: +0.8]
13.2C to the 2nd (12.7: +0.4)
12.7C to the 3rd (11.6: -0.5)
12.5C to the 4th (12.0: +0.1)
12.6C to the 5th (13.1: +1.5)
13.1C to the 6th (15.6: +3.7)
13.6C to the 7th (16.7: +4.9) [Record High: 16.9C]
14.1C to the 8th (17.4: +5.6) [Record High: 17.7C]
14.4C to the 9th (16.8: +4.8] [Record High: 16.5C]

A close to average first 4 days, followed by a very mild 5 days that could take the rolling average up to 2.4C above the 81-10 average.

It looks like the warmest day of September will about 15.5C (12th). Looking back through the records, it seems that on only 1 occasion has October had a week that averaged warmer than the warmest September day. This occurred in 1921, when the high daily average for September was 17.3C, but the week to October 11th averaged 17.6C. It seems there could be a chance of achieving that again this year if the 06z GFS is to be believed.

I know I keep changing my estimate but things have kept changing for the start of October and with the prospect of some very wark days for the time of year ahead I will adjust my guess upwards again to 10.7c. That is my final estimate! lol!

Looking at the current models, I do get the feeling that this coming October might follow the previous two in being very mild months. 12.1C for me, the first week of October looks to show plenty of scope for some southerly bursts with temperatures potentially reaching the low twenties.

Think I'll also go for a warmer one to break the ongoing trend.

So its 11.0C for me.
