Models still firming up on a very wet & windy spell into next weekend, some variations on detail as to be expected at 4/5 days away.

Charts from UKMO, ECM & GEFS(P) which will become the operational model from Wednesday.

Before then further wet and windy weather at times through this week.

A look at potential wind gusts for Friday night into Saturday, take with a pinch of salt at this range.

Obviously a massive anomaly, that's been recorded as a sustained wind somehow.... Hopefully we won't see sustained winds of 92mph for real!!

Yes its a error looking at the metar data on other sites for that time today they show mean speeds of 10 mph.

A GFS super storm on the 12z lol... It won't verify but if it did it would have major impacts.

Yes indeedy.  I've been following the modelling for this signal for about 6 days now when it was well out in FI, track will be interesting with a powerful jet sending it across us.  Might be more than just a "drying day" for the washing for us up here.

The sustained speeds are quite something, I don't think as bad as the jan storm this year  but strong enough none the less.

I'll see your super storm and raise you a monster storm.

LOL... That would be worrying/interesting! Certainly wouldn't want to be going out Xmas shopping in Scotland on Sunday if that came off!! Thankfully it's highly likely it won't.

Looking pretty rough for Ireland and Scotland, Wales and Northern England if that came off Sub!!

Yep, but there are still some model disagreements regarding developments for the weekend so we await further runs in the coming days, I don't think storm Desmond will keep us waiting too long though!
