Lots of convection visible and a smattering of cells heading down from the WNW

As Supercell mentioned theres a good amount of convergence around

Heading my way I think, I just hope it doesn't disintegrate like the last one.

A nice view of the strong shower passing to my west. Can see the cauliflower top and nice dark base. Fingers crossed for this afternoon everyone :)

Hold on, what's going on here:

I'm just very immature! :wink::rofl:

Oh dear, too soon out of sixth form haha? I must admit I would also be the first to point out stuff like that in my friends' group lol.

Brief but heavy downpour of big drops here in north Bristol. Plenty more to come from Wales by the looks of it.

Just returned from France and had a huge MCS over us last weekend - nearest CG was about 200m away where it hit a tree which briefly caught fire - (I have a bit of bark as evidence !) Virtually constant lightning for around 3 hours.

A few strikes to the north of Bristol recently, and I can see the cloud responsible - nice dark base and clear wispy top. Best convective day in a while here with such lovely cloudscapes.

Just had thunder here. I caught the flash of lightning out of the corner of my eye. That makes today the first day of thunder in September since 2010, for me. :)

If you look closely at that last funnel picture it looks like there is some water being brought up underneath it. Could that be a waterspout caught there?

Actually it is even clearer on picture 2. The thinner funnel is a waterspout as it is clearly sucking up water. Great captures.

Just got this! Definitely had rotation on it!

Hmm not sure it lols like a proper funnel to me. Certainly not the classic type posted on the last page. But well caught if It was one.

Two funnels just observed off the coast of Shoreham by Sea, Sussex at approximately 4pm this afternoon.

Well done great pics and you've got a waterspout there on the second and third photo ,you can see the funnel whipping up the water at its base. You must be Chuffed. I know I would be! :yahoo:

Thanks! I've seen a few funnels in that location over the past few years, particularly with a northerly wind versus a sea breeze set up as occurred this afternoon. I'm pleased to report the yacht and aircraft were fine - it looked a lot closer than it appeared!
