Guys,

My minimum was 3.3C at 7:15, with an extensive ground frost. I live in the Solihull suburbs opposite to a park and it is a sheltered south facing garden. But still>>>>

My coldest ever July temp.

Big differences over a few miles/hills and an extra 30m asl there TM re minimum temp. I have found since instaling my Davis station a few years ago that im normaly only within a degree or so of your minimum/max readings.. But last night seems to stand out from the norm. Which leads to my question, Is this unusual, Or somthing to be expected given the topo in this area? Edited by Polar Maritime

Min temp 3.6C last night so the coldest July night I've recorded in my short term (2008-2015) records, beating 4.8C the night before and 4.9C in July 2011.

However a very nice day since with sunny skies, cumulus inland but kept clear of the sun most of the day by the sea breeze. A much more summery looking sky and day than many recently, if slightly cooler than normal. Max temp 19.7C at 13:22.

Dry with sunny spells after an exceptionally cold night.  Maximum 21.1, minimum 6.6 (the university weather station further out from the town centre recorded 5.1, which I think may be a July record).  Wind light SW.

Something to be expected I think, P.M. I'm assuming from some of the photo's I've seen you post in the past that your site is fairly level and will therefore hold on to any cooling air overnight. Mine is right at the top of a steep hill and any cooling air at night just slides away into the local valleys. I noticed there were a few occasions last winter when you had minima of -5 or -6c whereas all I managed was -2c.

Back to today. A dry and warmer day with long periods of sunshine.

At 1800 g.m.t

Temp: 16.2c

Max today: 18.0c

Mean wind speed: 11 mph SW

Highest gust today: 22 mph SW at 1052 g.m.t
