Heard some Yanks bemoaning the dull drizzly morning in Bath today, so told them it happens very regularly before a sunny afternoon. Would love to have seen them again when it was cracking the flags from midday onwards!

hot and sunny yesterday....was very warm under cloudless skies this morning, now mainly cloudy with the odd chink sunshine, still warm though and feeling distinctly muggy at 23C......tonight see chances of outbreaks of showery rain pushing up from the south west, and as I posted in the convective threads, my thoughts are the odd embedded elevated thunderstorm tomorrow morning can't be ruled out (judging by the hi-res modelling)

On the Countryfile forecast this evening, Helen Willets showed the distinct possiblity of a thundery break down of the weather in this neck of the woods from Wednesday on.  So, why does the MetO forecast for my location now give any clue to this set up at all?

Confused of Sherborne!

After Summer's brief visit on Saturday now back to gloomy skies with light rain.

Looking ahead it seems we're in for a v changeable weather pattern.

No sign of even a few days of sun and real warmth.

Despite some of the eternal optimists in the Mad disc thread showing charts with HP and other more technical posters a couple of weeks ago promising an August of sun and warmth i see nowt of the sort.

Once again this Atlantic-facing island confounds the 'experts' when it comes to medium or long range forecasting.

Have a great week all.

Another load of rain today here. 19.8 mm of rain has fallen so far today here. No thunder which is a shame.

Final total here was 23.1mm, you'd hardly know now though, it seems dry again.  Should be able to mow the lawn tomorrow!

19mm here in only 3 hours or so and some brief flooding on the roads due to run off thanks to the dry, hard ground.

Beautiful evening now and a great summer day to come tomorrow, then Ian's Points West forecast had strong mention of thundery activity moving North from late Wednesday into Thursday.

Hmmm... bright sunny start? Nope. Havnig told my Mum to stay at home and enjoy the sun and do her day out shopping tomorrow instead, it looks like the days have swapped. Better clear up quickly.

24.8mm here from yesterday morning's heavy rain. This was well forecast locally by the Met/BBC charts.

In contrast this mornings cloud was not with Altostratus overspill from the front to the south.

Only 16.1C now after an overnight low of 9.6C
