What exactly is a 'pimply drop' I cannot seem to find it anywhere in my books on weather?  :D

LOL it's an Andy ism (much like lightbulb sun which we also have this afternoon), it's when you get normal sized raindrops but not many of them, so they kind of make a 'pimply' pattern on the ground.

On and off showers all morning. The afternoon got a bit better with no rain just cloudy skies but the wind has picked up a bit.

Temp 18.C

Managed to avoid the rain altogether during the day, instead getting lengthy spells of sunshine and a strong westerly wind. Only in the last hour or so have two torrential downpours rattled through off the Bristol Channel.

I think a streamer may set up overnight / early morning then abate towards midday leaving a brighter afternoon tomorrow.

You were spot on Mike! Quite a streamer overnight into this morning. I was woken 3 times by rain lashing against the window due to the gusty wind, I did wonder whether I had teleported into November!

Slowly improving now after a continued showery morning.

Mornin, yawn.... Wall to wall blue this morning, looks like a few stable, nondescript days ahead. Currently 9.7°C after an overnight low of 8.6°C, yawn....

Thanks Andy! Yes quite a stormy-sounding night at times - not exactly July-esque.

Much better this morning. Calm and clear with sunshine.

All in all a very agreeable morning, feeling warm in the sun.

Beautiful now. I reckon we'll fire the bbq up later if it stays like this.

You should be fine to do that John, may cool off through the evening but not as fast as yesterday then a cracking day tomorrow.

Confusing Points West lunchtime bulletin showed the heavy rain symbol for Sunday but the forecasters wording was chance of patchy rain! This suggests they are not confident where the frontal wave will affect. Often they end up further North on the day than forecast beforehand.

Spot on Andy. I had to stick a jersey on a 8pm, which was a first for a while.

Today's another beauty, so I've already been down to the butchers for tonight's bbq. Legritter would be proud. :)

We're off to Dartmouth tomorrow, coming back Monday afternoon. Tomorrow looks OK, but a bit dicey on Sunday. Haven't even looked at Monday.
