Another massive high pressure ridge develops again this coming weekend pushing up very warm air from the south. El Nino phenomenon appears to provide a remarkable change in weather type for this normally maritime climate zone. Following on from the record dry May, June sizzles with increasing heat and drought. 32C forecast for Metro Vancouver this weekend , 33C in Frazer Valley and 40c in the interior locations of Kamloops and Kelowna. My son who lives in the normally lush Kitslano part of the city reports a ban on hose pipes, but no restrictions on the copious amounts of cold lager presently being consumed. England play Canada on Saturday in the city in the next round of the Ladies World Cup. Looks like being hot work.
