Heavy downpour here with two rumbles of thunder rolled in from nowhere, surprising as just looks like ordinary shower.

Just fizzled into light rain after a few minutes here in the end, storm shield holding firm.

Out with the dog about an hour ago and could see a beautiful anvil to my north. Now having read the previous posts I can see what it was!

Took a glancing blow here, real heavy stuff skirted a few miles to the south and east. 4-5 rumbles of thunder, one quite loud. Didn't see any lightning though.

Been a decent few days here. Make the most of it as that will most likely be the lot now!

Just need parts of Shropshire and some of the other North-Western areas of the region to see some potent thunderstorms, and then hopefully all of the Midlands' storm admirers will be free from the dusty, murky, dungeons of the No Storms Club. Some have been locked up in that horrible, dark, place, for too long now.  :nonono:

Warm if not hot is great if only it only coincided with fresh cool nights. Now that would be good. Storm chance may well drop a bit so scrub that! Past few days have been good, even after the storms the sun and warmth came back. Not a fortnight of cold wet grey or horrible rubbish which we have seen before? almost as if it was pay back for three hot days and a storm.

Not really been the best year for storms so far, but these last few days have certainly made up for that, though, with some of us seeing the best storm for a fair while (and, with hope, a chance for those who have still missed out to see something really stormy at some point).

Was sunny this morning, but it looks like the white puffy things have gone and taken the sunshine away. Though some rain is expected later. Temperature bang on 17*C at the moment and feels somewhat fresher.

Throwing it down again, but surprise surprise no thunder. Was lovely first thing too.

Part of me can see a July 2009 coming. Hot and cloudy to start, then rained every day when other places got storms. That would be the pits, especially if it was followed by an August 2009 (SE v the rest mania).

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
