Exploring Wisconsin’s rare Lake Superior ice caves.

ast week, my wife and I headed north from our Wisconsin home to the shore of frozen Lake Superior. There, we found ourselves a palace of ice and snow at the edge of the largest freshwater lake in the world—an increasingly rare sight in an era of warming climates.

Nice pics.

But good luck to the author to convince the USA about global warming lol. Best thing to come out of these cold winters for them is that the most populated parts have seen so much cold over the last few years hopefully support is falling away for the warmist camps over there. The way things area headed there is no risk to those ice caves!

The problem with few who post in the forum is they attempt to cover up their ignorance with pathetic, and incorrect jargon, such as 'warmist camps'. Hopefully the more intelligent Americans realise that the last couple of winters, historically, have been amongst the warmist.

It's odd but I post what I mistakenly thought an article that may be of interest to some only for the thread to be taken over by the brain dead climate change deniers who can't differentiate between weather and climate.

Knocker, why was my use of 'warmist camps' pathetic? There is clearly a camp for both sides of that argument, and the reason why this forum has a thread for each 'camp' etc. Surely you know what i meant.

I dont want to get into arguments with you or anyone else on here, im a fairly new member who has only been posting a short while. I fully admit to you and anyone else reading this that im no expert by a long way, and only just at the beginning of my studies and to learn about this fascinating subject of the weather. I dont think calling me brain dead is fair, i certainly am not!

Im sorry if ive annoyed you.

Chris

I apologise if my reply was slightly OTT but I stick by the general tenor, I'm not going to enter into a general discussion about this as it's irrelevant to this thread and area but just to clarify why I object to 'warmist lobby'. It is not a lobby it is the opinion of the vast majority of scientists covering various disciplines. But essentially I disagree with this.

Best thing to come out of these cold winters for them is that the most populated parts have seen so much cold over the last few years hopefully support is falling away for the warmist camps over there.

That statement makes it quite clear your thinking on the subject and I find it quite incomprehensible that anyone could adopt this attitude given the amount of scientific and empirical evidence showing that the world is warming and the probable consequences of this.

But why does a story about an exceptional cold spell and ice caves have to have the required mantra about global warming inserted.
It's actually quite disturbing, there is a climate jihad going on, most normal people can spot this as an unsubtle propaganda tool I would hope,

The only mention of climate change in the article was this which is actually quite relevant.

Satellite data showed that at the time of our visit, the amount of ice on the Great Lakes reached a level not seen in 20 years. Via Climate Central:

This year’s ice is far from the norm as the long-term trend has been toward a dramatically reduced ice coverage over the past 40 years, in step with general warming trends in temperatures, particularly winter temperatures.

It continues: “This is a blip on the long-term trend.â€

But what a beautiful blip it is.

You, in your ideological wasteland, conclude from this:

It's actually quite disturbing, there is a climate jihad going on, most normal people can spot this as an unsubtle propaganda tool I would hope,

Oh the irony of unsubtle propaganda. Breathtaking.

Fascinating article. Not sure about the 'jihad' comment - could four point out where the Taliban/ISIS where in it?

I thought we did ice caves last winter? Didn't KL do a number on the Lakes freezing and the ice caves? So how long before the whacked out jet, and the wonga it must be costing the East Coast to clean up, prompts the public there to say "hey? what's up with this weather?"

Surely seeing the global temps so high has them thinking?.......... and surely not everyone thinks some one is lying to them?
