fairly cloudy start with a very thin snow cover; not sure when it fell, but looking at the temperature trace, probably sometime after 0630 with a low of -1.7C then, now -0.6C

Overnight showers left half an inch of level snow on the ground this morning, the most we've had so far this season (and since January 2013).  Currently cloudy, 0.6 deg C after an overnight low of -0.9.

A light snow shower yesterday evening but the rest of the night was dry with variable cloud cover. Further light snow showers moved down from the north east around 0800 and lasted a couple of hours without amounting to anything. Since 1000 it's been dry and mainly sunny.

Occasional snow showers overnight left a 0.5cm cover, making it the first day of the winter to have one at 0900. Since then it has been mostly cloudy with occasional light rain showers before clearing in the last couple of hours.

Severe frost last night,some of which has lasted all day in the shade. Clear and sunny crisp day today.

Last nights low was -5.0c,coldest temp ive recorded since Dec 2010.

Todays max was 2.4c.

Currently clear,,current temp 1.7c.

Less cold today than yesterday in spite of a covering of snow to start the day, a second snow shower around 0830 almost topped it up to 1cm and it took until early afternoon for it all to disappear, variable cloud now down to nil with a high of 6.2C
