It was snowing during the night at Watford but it did not settle

Yes we had light/moderate snow showers in the small hours - did not settle but pretty.

In contrast to some parts of the country this winter, so far, has been a fairly snowy one  in this area. There have been no major blizzards but the accumulated snowfall since December 1st is 65 cm making it the 8th snowiest winter in the last 38 years even if nothing at all falls in February.

I had heavy snow with big flakes for around 20 minutes today between around 15:20 - 15:40 which gave a smattering of snow on the cars and grass which has now melted. I went up to a nearby hill about 3 miles to the north east of Newton Poppleford called East Hill and there was about 1 cm of lying snow covering grass, roads and most trees. It was certainly something I wasn't expecting to see today. 1 cm of snow was recorded at around 240 m - 260 m asl.

We've had about an inch(maybe more) this morning and it's still snowing lightly.

About half an inch of snow here in Reading after overnight showers, the most we've had here since January 2013.

found out where all the snow went this year....

 

FPV Leif does some stunning droid videos, have been following him for years, this is the most snow he has video-ed - 9 metres and counting this year.

[Norrance]

Still around 10 cms today at the family home in Aberfeldy, Perthshire from a max of 18 cms yesterday morning. Melting in the sunshine when I left later in the morning.
