Shame really more peeps don't build up the courage to make their first post and to pop in now again  :)  here on the Midlands thread were nothing like the Model thread GRRR!!

Nice and friendly here, we just chat about the day to day on goings in the weather :gathering: and also any up and coming brill weather, like this weeks SNOW prospects.

So don't delay, come in and say HELLO!!!.... we are just like you you know.... Mad about the Weather :good:

Indeed. Always the risk the you could get hit on the head with toys from the pram in the Model thread (he hee).

We are a nice gang of people, though, and won't bite. It's always great to have that ecstatic atmosphere when something white turns up in the Models. We will only bite if you're someone that dislikes the cold and snow.

(Just kidding off course). :p

Nah, it'll be cold enough. The fury of the North Pole is about to come tearing across the country, you know, scourging the UK with blizzards for weeks. (No, seriously, it is. It says so in the D***y E*****s. Not sure whether that phrase trips the swear filter, but I'm taking no chances! :p)

I saw this shared on Facebook! I don't think I've ever read such a ramped up story!!  They've used the words 'punishing, crippling, frenzied, hell, havoc, chaos, screaming'... Even I hid behind the sofa after reading that!

Following this forum in the winter is very much like riding a roller coaster but Ive been following it for many years, I even followed the old BBC weather forums years back and many of the mod thread regulars posted there at the time!!.  I very rarely post though - Always been a bit of a lurker!!

The same as last week.

mainly a North West event.

Caught the tail end of it snow anywhere is possible.

Friday shows quite a nasty storm on gfs.

Too early to be definite at this range. A long way to go yet.

But it looks marginal for most areas.

Probably the same areas as last week.

It`s much of an improvement to last winter so far at least.

Maybe for you. But most have not had falling or laying snow.

Nice to see potential for more snow  :)

Though lets not get ahead of ourselves. This is 4 or 5 days away. As far as predicting snow is concerned, it may as well be 3 months away.

Still there certainly looks to be potential. As we all know that last snow event was uprgaded on the morning of the event only to be downgraded 6 hours later. It's just so hard to forecast. So there are going to be plenty of upgrades and downgrades right up to T6. So if it's a marginal event (like normal) it's probably worth sticking around till the last minute and certainly not writing it off days in advance. :) (and on the flipside - or getting too excited for loads of snow, for that matter)

I'm sure you'll get over it.. :p  but as for trends that's bloody cold come the end of the week and into the weekend.

Cold first then we'll see where the PPN will land

I see the usual downgrade/upgrade shenanigans have begun on the MOD thread already. I think I'll keep well away from there for the next couple of days or so, for my own sanity

850's this 850's that...will it snow in my garden? I live on the south coast and what time will my snow start...that place goes into meltdown as soon as any cold gets to within t240... ive even just seen some posts searching for the return of Zonal weather and the end of the cold is coming before its even got here.
