I was reading something yesterday, and meant to bookmark it to finish, so you have reminded me Jeffoliver . Have a look at http://rgsweather.com/2014/12/14/bombs-away-the-fall-and-rise-of-racy-depressions-december-2014/

 

midway down it has an explanation and some images about the difference of the SK formation of a low pressure, rahter than the traditional norweigan model
