While many of us 'wait for our first snow fix' how would you rate yourself with reasons ?

From

0 ....I hate cold/snow and want summer to come now, people are mad if they wish for snow (my                partner)

1 ..  Owe its snowing that looks nice but it better go before a leave for work or on xmas day only.

to

10. ...Full blow symptoms include lamp post watching 4am, looking at heights before the house when

you look where your going to live. Drive 20 miles at 11 o clock at night to see snow fall on a hill .Treat                non believers with contempt and that they don't 'understand' when a T240 chart with  potential for                    snow has gone in the morning.

I am about at 9 living with a 0 its hard.

I must be an 11 or 12...coz not only do I check the Above sea level of an area over the house I have actually moved my family further north and to higher ground...I am currently trying to convince the wife that a move to Buxton is a good idea coz the kids love to see the snow......its only 30 mins away from us but twice the height above sea level as our current location.....she wants to go back to Essex......NO WAY THATS EVER HAPPENING.......

Must be a 9. Examples include keeping curtains open, lamp post watching, watching snow settle on the car and then waiting for it to cover the grass (that means we're in business). Love it when the ground is frozen so the snow just blows around etc etc. Have been known to take a detour home up Cleeve Hill just to see the winter wonderland. It's a different world.

Can you imagine my horror when Mrs Cleeve Hill brought home some "rock salt" ! Soon moved that to the back of the garage !

Younger = yes, if I had children = yes.  Older and no children and whilst I like to get a few pictures and take in its scenic (ness), not so much these days.

I am definite 9 and I would say my missus would be an 8, so thats a real bonus!  :friends:  I recall lamp post watching and singing as the snow fell as a young lad (in the 80's) in the hope that it would snow harder or just keep snowing. You got to laugh hey, the things you do. I still lamp post watch to this day but dropped the singing incase the wife had me committed!

I have been watching Lillehammer on NetFlix and have to say Norway just looks like an amazing country, so picturesque. Those lucky peeps get guaranteed snow every year and it must be so amazing to live somewhere like that, where they'll be discussing how harsh this years winter will be rather than will we actually see a flake! I adore the UK, just wish all our winters could guarantee more cold and snow...

Really want my 18 month old Golden Retriever to see his first snow this winter, was so gutted last year as it was a complete wash out! Fingers crossed for all us coldies  :cold:  :hi:  :friends:

Its growing by the day totally fed up with the talk "at least its not snowing" :lazy: wake me up please.

It really gets to me how some despise the stuff, jeez lighten up -better than boring ol' rain.

Been 23 months since we've had laying Snow. Which is slightly unprecedented in recent times.

Mild brigade really gets on my nerves! winter is for cold stuff not mild boring nothingness.

Save on the heating yes but look you've had 2 years away from proper cold its time for the coin to flip.

Wallbash saying also when I or someone else complains about the rain, and the reply is 'at least it's not snow' the worst response ever to any question I think

heaven sake my rating must be at 9, I hate mildie's too

I'd say around a 4 or 5. Not really a snow man, more of a pipe-bursting, frost man. Love that deep cold feeling. I can live happily without snow and ice days so long as the evenings, nights and mornings are comfortably sub-zero, although I certainly wouldn't say no to a raging blizzard.

I'd put myself at an 8.

Surprisingly even though I could have chosen somewhere higher to live here I decided that even though I love snow I still like to be able to get out and about. Also theres something a bit more special about snow when you're not guaranteed it. My altitude here is 1,250 feet so that does help but last winter was the first since I've been here that saw no proper lying snow.

I do have the benefit though of having a lovely view of the Pyrenees from here so I can see the snow capped mountains, so even if its mild here in the valley I still feel its winter.

A few pictures of my poor attempt at photography taken from my terrace:

Nice photo's Nick.It looks a lovely location too.You seem to have the best of both worlds there.Snow in Winter when you need it and plenty of sun and warmth in Summer i guess.

I was a 10 in 1963 when as a 14yo had 9 weeks of lying snow to enjoy with my friends.

Now in my more senior years more a 7 or 8

.I enjoy a walk in it  when it's stopped falling and take photos but prefer to watch it falling from inside the warmth of the house.I do find clearing the drive and getting around more of a chore of course now but a snowy day is still a thing of beauty to me.

Usually a 7 but as it's been 18 months since I last saw snow, it's now an 8.
