Very white outside now here in Kilmaurs in East Ayrshire. It has been snowing very heavily with massive flakes for over 25 minutes now. And it is still snowing.

Another snow shower rattling through. We did have snow lying but it did melt fairly quickly. If this is going to be winter's last blast it's a nice way to go out for sure

Cor almost a blizzard of wet snow now

Looks like the greatest risk for snow making it through to the east will be this afternoon and overnight:

The afternoon showers may still lie, although they would be liable to melt again, but by this evening the freezing level is widely sub 300m, so things could get pretty interesting:

Timings obviously differ slightly but the EURO4 shows a similar story:

Could be an interesting train ride to Armadale this evening!

Think we'll get more in about 20 minutes or so (maybe sooner) starting to cloud over from the west

Thundersnow !!!!!! Everything white

Wow, congrats - I know how long you've waited for lying snow. Hope it sticks around long enough for you to enjoy!

Dry and sunny here in St Andrews. 6c but feels colder in the fresh breeze.

Brief but heavy shower just passed through. Was starting to settle so bodes well for later if we can get the showers through.

Been snowing on and off for most of the day. When it stops snowing, it quickly melts. And when it does snow, everything is covered.
