Accuweather App forecasting snow for me today.  Now that would be a shock!  Sun has given way to thick fog this afternoon. 4C.

Yes snowgirl30, seen quite a lot of brightness this weekend and today has been really quite pleasant for the last day of November.

At least the week ahead will feel a bit more December-ish with single figure maxima and possibly frost in places.

Certainly nothing exceptional or wintry on the cards for the foreseeable.

Wind is still rather strong near the coast keeping things around 3C, but should be dropping steadily - so a widespread frost seems inevitable.

Below freezing here, we could get down to -3 degrees or thereabouts. Tomorrow will be another lovely crisp winter's day, looking forward to the white scene in the morning and frost lingering in sheltered parts well into the day..

Pity there is no snow on the fells as yet, it would make a wonderful picture. Fingers crossed they will see there first proper dusting on Friday, with the promise of something more substantial come Sunday and next week perhaps..

Not sure but the beeb / met office have increased the temperature to 7c now and removed the snow though the text forecast still goes for scattered wintry showers

Outlook for Saturday to Monday

Dry and frosty at first on Saturday, but patchy rain spreading from the west by afternoon. Cold and breezy on Sunday and Monday with scattered wintry showers.

Had a frost this week which was a bit of novelty.

Temperatures struggling to 6c or 7c.

A bit more like it with a season feel at long last!

Can anyone tell me if we could get hit by this storm that looks set for middle of next week? Maybe a silly question as i know its quite a way off but i am still learning and understanding the wind charts are way above my skill level at the moment?!

The low for the middle of next week looks pretty menacing, but at this stage is unlikely to give anything severe for our region, although still gusting to about 50 mph and will be a cold wind as well.

First proper snow for the fells today, quite a decent dusting down to quite modest levels as expected. Another cold day and another frost this evening, its already felt colder this winter than at any time last winter and we are 5 days in only.. last year really was terrible.

You could at least furnish us with some pictures old bean.

Come on, let us enjoy the scene too!

I'm doing a wee cross border raid here, but these charts may be of interest to anyone who lives in the far, far north of the far north of England. They're from the Euro4 short-range model, showing a period of quite intense snowfall across the south of Scotland and areas of the north of your region. I'm not sure if there are any members who live in the potentially affected area, but thought I'd pop in the charts anyway:
