Unfortunately it's not much of a surprise that there was so much death and destruction. It looked awesoime to watch on the webcams but there's always a downside

Was watching the on the airport webcams last night - absolutely incredible storm and associated system. Quite scary, shocked at the loss of life - some people caught unaware from the 50,000 fallen trees.

watch that tree!

Is that rainfall measurement 4 cms in 20 minutes? - not too sure what a quadrameter is. Intense rainfall for sure!

Saw some clips on the BBC news and that was some intense storm, lots of wind and rain, the strike intesity appears very high from the video they had.

The liters of rainfall measurement is actually liters/square meter (L/m2).In traditional terms,1 L/m2 = 1 mmSo yes 40mm in 20 minutes

It's remarkable that there is so much wind and rain noise, enough to drown out the thunder entirely.

Looks like a tornado went close by on that replay judging how the tree was shredded suddenly.
