Terribly sad news for all . My condolences to the families.

We should also remember that people like Tim , his son , Carl and many other don't do this for fun. There is a real need for data to attempt to determine why one storm drops and another doesn't.

The legacy for these men is heard every time there is a siren . The time gained by the work of these people has saved countless lives. That should never be forgotten. And neither will they.

Descanses en Paz.

Been away all weekend and only just logged on and all I can say is I'm totally gutted to find out the tragic loss of Tim, his son and another member of his team and also all those that have lost their lives in Oklahoma in May. Such a sad sad loss which will have a long-lasting impact on those in the field who carry out storm research and sends home the message to all those that chase that no-one is infallible in the face of these dangerous storms. Some of us have been caught out in the circulation of tornadoes, so I know just how easy it is to be caught out, even when you have the best data available to hand.
