Better enjoy the next 5 days as there is a very quiet period coming up after the 7th according to GFS:

I can see the storm clouds near Bristol to my South and can hear faint rumbles. I'm about 15 miles too far North and can't travel right now so not really seeing much. But it's impressive that Bristol is finally seeing something haha!

I'm just hoping the showers over Devon keep up as they're heading more in my direction at the moment.

Think I can hear rumbles from the cell to my SW. Looks to be pepping up nicely.

I was just too far north for that storm. Passed over South Bristol, North Somerset area. Good to see something actually materialised from the potential though.

More time for a better hit still.

A few rumbles of thunder here from that area of precipitation just to the south of the Humber. Its looking very dark out there now.

Very little in the way of action yesterday with just a few rumbles around 5.30pm and just 0.2mm of rain.

Looking good Fromey!

That's some line stretching from Swindon to Okehampton and it keeps developing backbuilding cells, I would expect some flash flooding somewhere

in Somerset - wouldn't fancy driving on the M5 this afternoon!

In Warminster we had a few sharp showers around lunch time but otherwise a fine bright and breezy day with the line of cells/storms to the NW for

the last 3 hours!

Have heard no rumbles but the sky to my N/NE looks evil. Can't believe how close we were.

I am starting to look at Sat/Sun a bit more seriously now as we are not far away. Over the next 24 hours I shall have to plot the best area for me to chase, i could get to chase both days of the weekend for the first time this summer :)

Not holding any hope for my area this evening, even though the storm risk charts are showing a 52% risk of a storm.

Gah that is typical, I almost drove NE today with a 'target' of Wells as I thought that looked like a good spot for something to happen along that line, but decided against it as the band didn't look active enough with no sefrics earlier, to warrent driving that far. Should have taken the risk perhaps but oh well.

Heard distant thunder as I got off the train to Yatton, sort of towards the E/SE but nothing here, not even rain haha. If only that line were a little further west as the sky looks deathly in that direction.

Looks like a hook echo on the radar North-west of Cambridge.

Looks to be passing over Peterborough

Didn't even get thunder out of that mate! was far less intense than what I was expecting, there was also hardly any wind with it either.

Hi cloud10...That's not really a hook echo as such....A hook echo that would make a storm enthusiast sit up and take notice would be much tighter in size and would have a pronounced rainfall variance around the hook...What the radar run actually shows is a decaying clump of showers IMHO smile.png

...In saying that it's decaying, some lightning strikes are showing up on the southern flank of those showers near Ely
