Hi Vince,

As a regular poster, are you trying to hide your location from your profile for some reason. blum.gifrofl.gif Would you please be so kind to update it for us when you get a minute. good.gif

The skies were interesting last night and earlier this morning in Newbury and it certainly has that Thundery feel about it. Not sure about the types of cloud but many different ones were evident, it is now just plain milky looking.

Here's the latest from the radars (nothing electrical as yet!)

Currently 17.7c AT, 16.1c DP (nice) and a falling barometer at 1007.2hpa

Welcome to August.

Awesome Mackeral sky here, almost as if a thunderstorm is coming... very humid too!

There is some very heavy rain currently over the Paignton/Torquay area heading in my direction. Wonder if it will stay as that intensity though, be duo rises if it did.

North Wales and North West England looks to be another good place to be today, cells slowly developing over this area.

Looks as though the Olympic park could get affected by showers this afternoon too, with stuff coming up from France.

Trust me, northwest england has not been a good place to be for thunder this year! Hope you're correct though

Shocking doesn't quite cover it really...non-existent would be more accurate.

Saturday and Sunday are looking like they could be pretty good for a possible storm.

and it's an upgrade on the 06z GFS for here with CAPE of over 1000 for saturday, an upgrade for today and over 500 CAPE on every day from today untill sunday. Even tomorrow looks good now and that was looking to be the quieter day. Back to now, and after some strong insolation this morning have just had some amazing gusts of wind from what felt like a gust front. Just had probbly a 50 or 60 MPH gust and it's just started to rain big droppes. It really felt as if we were about to get hit by a tornado at one point. Exciting but rather frightening as well!

Showers in Wales heading into North West England now. Mediocre cape values will probably restrict any thundery activity however, but there could be a isolated rumble here and there.

Was quite surprised to see no sferics detected out that line of heavy rain in Ireland earlier. Some really intense colours plus a nice structure!

That storm north of Hull has literally just exploded. Another sferic on the CF around south Staffs I think.

This week from now on is offering plenty of opportunities for parts of the UK with the weekend looking like being very good so i may get a few chases in.
