Incredible Supercell Structure Chase Day 21 - Texas Panhandle Moderate Risk

Took a massive massive Gamble today and Blew off the SPC's 10% Tornado Risk and Indeed the Moderate Risk for the Slight Risk in the Texas Panhandle. Model's were having an awful time today with showing Capping over Western Oklahoma and showing Derechio type events. So I decided to drive West along I-40 towards Elk City as a target, along the way we watched incredible Roll Clouds and Gravity Waves, the atmosphere looked stable to the North towards the SPC's Tornado Box. At about that time a few explosive cells fired along the dryline to our west near Childress. We went South from Shamrock and watched a beautiful LP Supercell try to gain some rotation but this soon fell apart, our attention was drawn 35 miles south to a Tornado Warned Cell near Childress, once this started to spit out 4" Hail we side swiped this to the east, but another beast of a HP Supercell went up on it's South East Flank, we stair stepped this near Vernon, at times it was like the apocolypse driving down Highway 287, with numerous Corn Fires due to dangerous Cg Lightning Bolts and drifting brown smoke everywhere. Once we got on the best viewing side SE Of the Storm near Seymour the view was incredible with a stacked plate Supercell. We moved South to photograph this storm for the next hour and then set up for some Lightning. Ended the day in Wichita Falls.

Was another great and successful chase. It has lots going on.

A bridge that would only take one vehicle at a time , CGs hitting all around and each time starting a fire . The fire services were being run ragged.

Then to cap off the day a bootiful supercell.

Well done guys, have been watching you live each evening this week. Great fun, even without the sound. But there seemed to be a technical problem with your direction of travel on the plotter last night. It showed you static for hours whilste you were racing westwards on the Interstate.

Absolutely amazing photo Dan.

Just caught up with the last few chase days and I'm totally blown away with the photography. Some fantastic stuff. Congratulations to all involved in getting the targets nailed. :)
