In my town it got down to 1.9 c but outlying areas must have been much colder.

Got down to 2'c here, but we're in the middle of town, I expect the countryside got quite comfortably below freezing.

To me, this heralds the glorious arrival of winter!

(bet we get a proper Indian summer now :D)

Just managed our first air frost of the season with -0.1c

Would have got alot lower if the cloud had cleared properly.

Recorded a ground minumum of 0.6C, so a slight ground frost last night.

sorry to sound pedantic but to get a ground frost the temperature on the ground must fall below 0.0C?

But it would be possible for grass to show white; if the thermometer was just touching short blades of grass you would find the temperature was showing a touch below 0.0C

hope that helps

Woodford went down to -0.3'c overnight, with Buxton only managing +1.7'c, looks like 'micro-climating' won again on this round.

We only made a low of 2.2C in the end. High cloud kept coming and going which helped hold up the temperature.

The temperature dropped to 0.3C here last night at 5am, and then rose steadily due to increased cloud. So not quite an air frost, though if it hadn't clouded up it certainly would have been.

Hello to all,

In the Paris area we had a -1c in Pontoise which is a good 15 to 18 miles from Paris ( northeast) here near me it was just 2.7c ( may be close to zero on friday night )

in the region it went from -1c to 6c in Paris center some local clounds limited the fall of temps but locally it remained clear and so helped for the first freeze in the greater Paris area.Same story tonight and friday night ( where it may be the coldest night)Not going much above 4c in Paris center and -1 or 2 in exposed areas and less urban ones.
