UK Outlook for Thursday 4 Sep 2014 to Thursday 18 Sep 2014:

Current signals continue to suggest a broadly changeable spell of weather. As such, most regions can expect to see spells of fine weather, with some warm sunshine at times. However, these spells will then be interspersed with more unsettled conditions bringing showery outbreaks and perhaps more prolonged spells of rain. Northern and western parts are then likely to see the most frequent bouts of unsettled weather, whilst southern and eastern parts are likely to see the most frequent and prolonged fine and dry spells. Daytime temperatures, meanwhile, are likely to be warm during the fine spells and near or below average during unsettled weather.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 27 Aug 2014 to Friday 5 Sep 2014:

Rather unsettled in the south for the latter part of next week, whilst northern areas will generally see drier and brighter weather. A quieter start to next weekend, though the general trend is for more changeable conditions later with heaviest and most persistent rain in the west, winds could be locally strong in the north and west, with a risk of gales. It then stays rather unsettled through the period with scattered showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed with brighter spells. Wettest weather is likely to be in the northwest, whilst the best of the drier and brighter interludes will be towards the southeast and possibly becoming lengthier with time. Temperatures will be near normal, but warm at times during drier spells and towards the southeast.

UK Outlook for Thursday 28 Aug 2014 to Saturday 6 Sep 2014:

Rather unsettled across much of the UK on Thursday, Friday and into the weekend with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, interspersed with brighter and drier interludes. It will be windy at times in the northwest. However, conditions may become drier and brighter across southern parts through Friday, into the weekend and perhaps into the start of the new week. A northwest to southeast split is the most likely scenario through the rest of the period with the wettest weather likely to be in the northwest, where it will be windy at times, whilst the best of the drier and brighter interludes will be towards the southeast and possibly becoming lengthier with time. Temperatures will be near normal, but warm at times during the sunnier periods and towards the southeast.

UK Outlook for Saturday 6 Sep 2014 to Monday 15 Sep 2014:

Many places dry through the weekend, with variable, but often large amounts of cloud and some bright or sunny spells, but there is an increasing risk of rain or showers spreading across southern and southwestern areas, possibly extending to central areas by the end of Sunday. Into next week, still a good deal of dry weather, especially towards the north, but probably becoming more unsettled from the southwest, with heavy rain possible at times. Light winds at first but becoming breezy from the southwest. Temperatures generally near or a little above average. Into the latter part of next week and beyond, the most likely scenario is for the unsettled conditions to migrate towards the northwest of the UK, with the best of the drier and warmer conditions towards the southeast.

UK Outlook for Monday 8 Sep 2014 to Wednesday 17 Sep 2014:

Changeable in the northwest next week with cloudier spells with rain, perhaps heavy at times later, interspersed by brighter periods with a chance of occasional showers. Elsewhere, there is the chance of occasional cloudier spells with a little rain on occasion, but much of the time conditions more likely than not to be fine and dry. Daytime temperatures near normal for many at first, but by mid-week conditions should be warmer where conditions are fine. Nights chilly at first next week, but milder later. Looking ahead into the week after next conditions are likely to remain changeable to the northwest. Further south and east some fine weather is likely, but there is an increasing chance of conditions here turning more changeable too. Still feeling pleasant when conditions are fine though.

UK Outlook for Friday 12 Sep 2014 to Sunday 21 Sep 2014:

Friday should be dry for most, with sunny spells and variable amounts of cloud. These conditions should persist through Saturday for much of the UK, although with the risk of showery rain in the southwest. Whilst it will stay chilly overnight in the north, it will be feeling pleasant by day in the sunshine with temperatures a little above average. From Sunday onwards, although northern parts of the UK are likely to remain settled and mainly dry, more changeable conditions will begin to affect some areas further south. Showery outbreaks of rain are likely to spread into southeastern parts initially, then towards the following weekend it is likely that spells of rain interspersed with drier, brighter intervals will begin to spread in from the southwest.

UK Outlook for Sunday 14 Sep 2014 to Tuesday 23 Sep 2014:

High pressure continues to dominate the weather to start the period, with dry and settled conditions for the bulk of the UK, though large amount of cloud at times, especially in the east. Daytime temperatures generally slightly above average. From Tuesday and though the rest of next week, a transition looks likely to wetter and windier conditions, with low pressure moving in from the west or southwest, bringing rain or showers to west and southwestern parts, while the northeast retains drier conditions for longer. Temperature likely to remain on the warm side, but slowly decreasing though the period. Towards the end of the period, generally rain or showers moving in from the west, with the best of any drier weather towards the east.
