The manager there gave us a full box of Bud that he didn't want, nice chap. I didn't change his door numbers over that night.

OK, who forgot to beer up. Ian, Tom?? I suppose its partially my fault in not sending bi-daily text messages to Ian like I said i would. At least ye got beer that night anyway.

Seriously though, thanks to all the lads... Paul, Ian, Tom, Tammy, Pat (cloud-nado, rotation) Carter :o , and Danny for putting up with me on tour 1

Paul ( and Tom) for getting us on the best storms every day.

Ian for not getting too annoyed with me when I was shouting at him for directions while freaking out about 4 way junctions, I should be used to that by now.

Tom for being the best room mate ever, cup of coffee every bloody morning! I call shotgun on Tom next year already! I enjoyed sharing with Nick and Paul (one night) last year but man those 2 boys know how to snore.... :D I had it in frickin stereo one night when there was a chasers traffic jam and 4 of us had to share a room

Tammy watering up all the cars every morning and pretty much looking after all the lads!

Pat for pretty much being the one of the funniest blokes I've ever met.

Danny for not giving out to me too much when I'd forget to put the into Park as the doors wouldn't open.

Last but not least, Paul M for making all of this possible and putting up with us calling and texting him at 2 and 3 AM to sort out Hotel's etc...

Roll on next year and lets hope we get a bit of storm action in the UK and Ireland this summer in the meantime.

Well I am finally back in the Uk and have been up for 23 hours now so trying to make it through today to get over the Jet Lag!

Really wanted to say a few words in here as well on how the Tours went this year, some lessons learned to become even better next year and also some great characters who made the trips for me when the Weather was not playing ball.

Big Thanks to John H, without this guy we really would be playing catch up with our comms side of things, even other Uk chasers rely on Johns guidance out there in the Plains, not only that a Fantastic driver to boot so a real asset to the Team, great socialiser and it now seems a pretty good Lightning Photographer. Thanks to dierdre also for letting him come out on Tour 1 to get the nuts and bolts running. Next year on the Comms side Paul M and John are already sorting out 2 providers for the streaming so that things should not drop out, Sprint for Texas and Oklahoma and Verizon for Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska.

Mr Tom Lynch, absolute legend, great co forecaster, joker, jackass, videographer, another superb driver also, my only real gripe was that John got a Coffee every morning and I had the Giant Whale on the other bed in my room :) Tom you really made the tours this year with your dry humour and getting everyone Involved, the banter over the radios were legendry though the Buddy Holly from Lubbock can only be told soooo many times over the radio.

Ian Cameron another great year on the GPS & Chief Socialiser, and now the owner of the 1st ever Storm Chaser to complete the 72oz Challenge and get into the record books. As you say the StormChasing and meeting and getting to know each other is 50/50 to you, give Ian the chance of a High Risk in Kansas or a drop off and pick up the next day in an Oklahoman Club and I know what Ian would choose. LOL

Thanks also to Nick F again for the forecasting and also GPS & Live Streaming in Johns and Ian's absense at the end of the tours. I know we did not get another Aurora moment and the Supercells were hard to comeby but we gave it our best and to get Chase Team 3 the maximum 10 out of 10 Chase Days was great.

Thanks to Paul M in Mission Control who dealt with the Hotel booking side of things when the chase was in full swing and other niggly bits and pieces with the Car Rentals etc.

Another big thank you to all who have followed us (Old and New Viewers) over the last 35 days, seeing people online and following us gives the guys a buzz who are out chasing at the time, thanks for the kind words in the Reports threads in what was a challenging season with little or scarce Tornado Reports.

I would also like to thank all the participants on this years Chases, you all had your own personalities, from Mr Rotation to my own Personal Secretary Tammy! There were some great moments, the blow up doll and the sheriff situation stand out for me, and also trying to stay in a Hail core for Stewart (Audmun) for 3 hours only to get Heavy Rain! Grrrr B) One year mate we will destroy that car! I hope every one of the members who came out got something out of the trip be it their best Photograph or a Great Chase Moment.

So how was the Season that was 2009, well not to bad if you took out the Tornado Numbers and would you believe we chased 23/31 Days in what was essentially a bad Pattern. I really do not think 2010 can be as bad for May Tornadoes but what this year had was plenty of Structure and decent Storms. We covered 11,117 Miles and covered 6 States, we saw 3 brief Tornadoes all in Texas on the 1st, 5th and 12th May at Rule, Breckenridge and Childress.

Chase Team 1 saw 8 out of 11 Chase Days

Chase Team 2 saw 5 out of 10 Chase Days

Chase Team 3 saw 10 out of 10 Chase Days

Cant wait to go back out their again in 2010 and witness more of the Planets Most Strongest Thunderstorms and Hopefully next year more Tornadoes with the Jet over the USA & Not over the North Pole!

Regards

Paul Sherman

N1 Steve

Was good meeting you and Martin again!

If you are out in May then I am sure we will meet up in the Big T!

If all goes to plan we could be having up to 5 Brits doing the Challenge next year! Lets see if anyone can beat the 58 Mins and 11 Sec Uk StormChase Record.

Bear hunting and storm chasing combined, Gorky would be in his element!

Anyway, been home a few hours now and it feels strange, everything is small, my car is like a go-kart compared to the big Toyota truck.

Really loved the States more than I expected, didn't think i'd come home saying I want to live there.

Thanks again both Pauls, Nick and everyone else involved. It was brilliant!

Big thanks to Paul Sherman for leading the tour and his long hours of driving. Always a pleasure chasing with you. Also thanks to Arron and Mark for putting up with our singing, but I hope you both came away with some great experiences of severe storms - even in a quiet season where tornadoes have been absent.

Big thanks to Paul M and John for the behind the scenes stuff, making the streaming happen this year has really made a big difference - and opened up storm chasing to a wider audience, hopefully next year we can improve on this by getting even better coverage in those more remote areas we go (usually where the storms happen to be!). And also thanks to all those who went on tours 1 & 2, shame I didn't get to meet some of you though have already met many of you - but you all contributed to making the chases fun to follow and experience through your accounts, photos and video footage.

I have come away with two new chase experiences: Hail Fog and Tower Lightning. So even after last year's epic chase of close brushes with tornadoes, strong RFD winds and encounters with baseball size hail ... even a quiet season can bring some wonders!

Anyway, had a nice sleep this afternoon after no sleep on the overnight flight, but back to work tomorrow :drunk:

Blow up doll, don't they have discos or escort agencies in Texas Sherman?

Or should I say Sherman Texas?

I mean look at how well W did, most of us should be so lucky.

No time for a bit of hunting with Dick Cheney, I gather.

Chicken Madras, Mushroom Rice, Garlic Naan and Onion Bhaji - Have been dreaming about this since 26th April and tonight is the Night! :o

Flew right over Aberwhatsit Yesterday Aaron, clear skies all the way from NW Northern Ireland, right over the Top of the Isle Of Mann and over Western Wales along through the Cotswolds and Into Heathrow. Not a Cloud in the sky.

Am over my Jetlag as well and about to cut the grass in the back garden

Hi all,

I would also like to put my two penneth in aswell!! Just to repeat what everyone else has said - I had the most amazing two weeks storm chasing made a thousand times better by being with the team that were out there with me. I got to see America and meet the most friendly people I have ever met. I will never forget the feeling of seeing my first supercell and watching the most amazing lightening show I have ever seen :D

Paul S made sure that he put the extra effort in so we could be in the right place at the right time to get to see supercells even if it meant driving hundreds of miles to get there. Tom's jokes and lovely humour kept me smiling for two weeks and Johns laugh is the most infectious laugh I have ever heard!! Finally Ian's calm outlook to life should be bottled and sold - I have never meat a more chilled out person! and Pat and Dannys enthusiasm for storms was infectious.

The live streaming was amazing and enabled friends and family to watch us and see what we were up to and the videos and pictures have been fantastic from all the Chase Teams.

So thank you again to Paul S, Tom, John, Ian and Paul M for the trip of a lifetime and of course to Pat and Danny for being great guests with me!!

Tammy

aka Paul S Personal Secretary :D
