  1. Met office has a solitary snow symbol for Brighton at midday. Word on the street is that it was raining in Normandy though!
  2. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this, even though I am currently doing exactly what I am going to say! I've been wanting to for ten years or so now though, so here goes (mods feel free to delete!)... If the more knowledgeable forum participants (the ones that the majority of us are here for), didn't 'like' the one-liners that are non-model related then that may discourage the person who posts them. I'll approach it that way because the constant requests from the mods for the offenders to stop, just get ignored. I really feel for the mods here, they have worked tirelessly over the years to make this amazing forum how it should be, a model-related discussion. Just imagine it if all their hard work came to fruition and we could scroll through tons of wheat instead of a bucket load of chaff. Other than that, it's the best forum in the world. Please don't reply.
  3. Because Meteorology is interesting and fun. Especially at this time of year. These charts are super exciting, you don't know what's going to come next and also quite rare. Sometimes it not just about the outcome.
  4. Looks like this has headed to Brighton now. 3rd time lucky! Previous snow had melted on rooftops but still a dusting on the grass. This is more like it though. Fat flakes flying! Lovely. I'm going to say these in terms of size are a good 5/10 on the SM scale - just needs to be a little heavier but getting there I attempted to feed the house sparrows, Robins and Starlings some meal worms and give them fresh water but some greedy Magpies scarfed them down first (as per). It's all going on!
  5. Snowing again in Brighton near the Downs, so fine but plentiful! Upgraded from a dusting on rooftops (which was going but now coming back again!) to also a dusting on the grass. Getting heavier. Sqweeeeee!
  6. Hi all! It snowed lightly and settled on rooftops here in brighton. I'm very close to the Downs. It's stopped now and was light but I see white! A bit
  7. Shoreham NCI Lookout - 980.8 @ 21.55pm and 978.5 @ 22.27pm
  8. From what I understand the true path as is happening right now, is happening further north than some models are showing?
  9. 980.8mb last recorded (21.55) at Shoreham weather station ('falling rapidly') Daily high windspeed: 48 knots (55mph) The wind has notably picked up and is slamming the rain against the window. Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.
  10. Nothing major near the South Downs in Brighton (yet) - just windy! Feels ominous though.
  11. There is nothing falling from the sky in Brighton yet. I'm near the Downs, above sea level. It seems if something does fall it will be sleet/rain going by the radar.
  12. Well it's not as fierce as I like.. however life threatening it unfortunately has been, and succeeded. Glad its not in your back yard.
  13. You called it last night. Light snow here now but could get heavier going by the radar
  14. @Marie i'm looking at this but i've always been optimistic Probably too optimistic here!
  15. The radar is looking good for Brighton at the moment.. unless it grinds to a halt!
  16. Met Office has Brighton down for another 20 mins of snow. I call bull going by the radar. It's no raging beasterly but pretty and consistent and laying somewhat
  17. Pepping up a bit here in Brighton now it's becoming more organised. Still nothing though really!!
  18. I've always been amazed at how crazy it can get here. It will lay if it heads this way I think
