  1. Worst wind storm for a long time in Morecambe. Think there's goin to be some damage visible in the morning !
  2. I was on Morecambe prom just after midday, as the winds peaked and the tide was at its highest. Crazy conditions not seen for many a year.   4. Heavy shower of rain, sleet, hail and snow in Morercambe. Temps are still aroung 4oc so its looking good later on tonight for inland areas if were getting a wintry mix already at 3m asl lol

  9. Heavy rain and 1 rumble of thunder Theres a hole (5ft deep) that some kids dug last year next to the golf club where I work. The water table is 1ft from the top, much more rain and flooding could be a problem, lets hope for a dry autumn. edit -we have lightning edit edit - more thunder and heavy rain just as I was typing the edit edit we have another thunder, but this time abit longer
  10. Just had a thunderstorm lasting about 15 minutes with a few flashes of lightening and torrential rain . Hopefully it'll clear the air abit as its been really muggy the last few days.

  18. Just been to work to check the rain gauge, it had 15mm in, which all fell in the last hour apart from a brief moderate shower this morning .

  21. Hi Great Plum, we have the same problem on the golf course at the moment. If the land is really wet i'd be tempted to leave mowing, as you could damage the soil structure, causing compaction and root break. The more leaf blade you can leave during winter, the happier the grass will be due to a larger area for photosyntesis. Maybe the upcoming cold spell will knock the growth back and you could wait till spring to mow? If you do mow, try to do it on a dry day, with a sharp mower and dont take more than a third of the leaf away. Being too aggressive might stress the grass causing bare patches and moss infestation.
