  1. Well I've cleaned my car twice tonight and now another cm has appeared. Still snowing and more to come possibly looking at the radar. Mapperley Arnold roads could be interesting in the morning! But they should be clear to travel on.
  2. It doesn't look like much is coming Nottinghamshire way now! According to bbc graphics. Anyone provide me with any hope?
  3. These charts are just incredible. I have learnt so much fromwatching this thread over the past several years and to see these charts now is quite amazing. I don't post very often as I am still not confident in my knowledge but thanks to all of you on this thread I think I am getting there. Lets see if these model runs continue! PB
  4. Hi First post on these wonderful discussions as I have been studying over the past years. I agree Katla has the potential to be catastrophic in Iceland and any eruption will influence the weather(ash into the jet stream etc). But I can't find evidence of activity of concern since October 5th(3+ mag earthquake). Another volcano beginning with K has had a minor quake and Mt Hella still attracts interest.
  5. Thanks, I can see what you mean. Do you think the models have enough data to model this type of scenario? in which case Earls track could shift significantly west(or east).
  6. Hi I'm new to posting on forums, but I have always enjoyed the comments posted by members of netweather, whether it be models at winter, hurricanes etc. I have learn't so much from this site. Hurricane earl has me quite worried though. What would the effect of the storm surge be on New York City? and is their any information on this. My feeling is, as history has shown, that Earl will move slightly further west and impact the east coast more significantly. What I dont understand is how the high pressure steers hurricanes. I saw the BBC weather forecast and it looked like the high was nudging east. Maybe I am barking completely up the wrong tree so any expert information from anyone greatly appreciated. My fingers are crossed for the east coast US!
