I wish I had a north-facing bedroom! Was up at some ungodly hour this morning after a fitful kip,being awoken rudely by the damn sun blasting thru' my east-facing window,making light work of my black curtains. Been trying to catch a few winks since,prior to my looming,gruelling 2pm - 10pm stint in an outrageously hot engineering shop. No chance,the horrendous heat and light putting paid to any chance of that. Already feel practically dead. Ain't summer wonderful? LG,ticking away the days before this horror starts to subside. Methinks I'm in for a long,long wait.

Just to cheer myself up and pass a little time,I've been looking longingly at a chart showing the sunrise and sunset times for December...

Sleep pattern? What's one of those,then? I work all hours under the sun (and moon) and don't know where the hell I am half the time. Example: Just finished work and had my main meal of the day. I't's 00.03. Bed at around 03.00. Up at 06.00 to get kid ready for school etc. Another light meal/breakfast then back to sleep til 13.00. Next week will be totally different (nights). Basically, I avoid sun at all costs,whatever shift I may be on.

As I've known and feared for a long time,the wonderful conditions of the last few weeks have been replaced abruptly by exactly the type of weather I can't tolerate. The transition is as shocking as driving along happily in the car without a care in the world,then the next moment being at the centre of a pile-up. Gotta leave the house and my darkened room soon,into the withering sun and suffocating warmth. My palms are sweating and my coordination is wrecked;picking up something like a cup ends in spillage. Really can't function normally at all,thinking about dark winter days gives fleeting relief before some sound outside snaps me out of my reverie and back into the awful reality of now and the things I have to do.
