Well well well, starting to look like winter's coming back, maybe with a vengeance! Could be snowy for our region, and much of the country next weekend onwards. Fingers crossed

Stopped snowing in Ryton, lasted 15 mins.

Light snow just started here in Royston, woohoo!

Oh well, looks like arriving sooner, could be Newcastle within the hour?

Currently showing a batch moving more to the South of our region. There is a more solid looking clump to the West over S Scotland headed our way, but slowly. Could be here, if at all, by about 4 or 5 ish?

Nothing here in Ryton. Wind direction changing NE later so the rest of us can join in the fun!

Looking at the radar, could be some snow in the Newcastle area by 10pm. Even a sprinkling would be great, now, where's that lamp post?

Showery rather than persistent here in Ryton at the moment, small flakes mixed intensity but all lying. Looks promising for overnight and I have the pleasure of running a team of lorry drivers on a 23 hour Nightshift starting 7pm. I will be able to watch the whole thing play out overnight, happy days!

Nice to see the first light snowfall of this event right now. Only light, small flakes and a light dusting on cars. Hopefully just the start as the North Sea snow maker grinds into action!

Well, there seems to be total confusion in the model forum regarding the rest of the week. There appears to be no concensus at all between any of the models as to how the rest of the week will pan out, even in the next twelve hrs. There are obviously massively conflicting signals, so that nobody can pin anything down, regarding rain, snow, duration of the cold spell etc. All good fun, it's times like this that the radar is your best mate

Looking at the radar, my guess is showers hitting land approx 11.15, may spread across to maybe Corbridge area as seem to be intensifying slightly. May leave a slight fresh covering, fingers crossed.

Ryton now 37, not bad for Tyne and Wear.

Some high level thin cloud veiling the up here in Ryton, can we scrape say 38? Fingers crossed.
