  1. Can see the flashes from Epsom, always amazes me on a clear night how far you can see this!
  2. And the rain finally hits Epsom. A nice rolling storm, conatant rain but not torrential. Some low booms from a high cloud base.
  3. Right on the edge of the London storm inEpsom, the anvil is rumbling every 20 seconds, amazing watching it build
  4. Can see distant occasional flickers from Epson! Long way
  5. Got very dark in Epsom, 30 minutes back, some great cloud to cloud lighting, best storm of the year ive seen.
  6. Welcome rain and some strobe lightning in Epsom. Long rumbles of thunder and soothing after all the muggy feel.
  7. I was watching this grow from Epson. Amazing how quickly it was ascending.
  8. Met office app is showing 60% thunderstorm chamce at 5pm? Im in epsom, anyone else got anything similar. Clouds dont look likely...
  9. Recall this one well although i was very young. Went totally dark and the thunder was continuous. Non stop lighting in groups of 4-5 flashes. Immense and i remember walking home without shoes in a couple of inches of surface water. Never seen anything since which comes close to this. Wonder if it was a unique set of circumstances? By the way i gre up in London and i think this hit around 9:30 in the morning. I had heard there was another storm system which passed through a few hours later but dont recall that one.
  10. May head up to box hill / leith hill this evening for a maximum local viewpoint.
  11. Report from Epsom. Two separate houses struck by lightening. That was a wild hour or so. Some heavy shot-gun thunder. Absolute soaking, which the ground has needed. Must of had a high cloud top as the light diminished quite a bit, not quite day time darkness! Feels much fresher now.
