Ive heard the warmest May temp has already been broken in the S/E.

What do you mean by the warmest May temperature? The warmest May temperature is 32.8C on the 29th May 1944. The current spell coincided with a hot spell in May 1922 where temperatures were recorded above the 30C threshold on 4 consecutive days. Incidentally that summer was horrendous!

Definitely not a record breaking May spell at a national level, it really only started Monday, the way the opening post comes across, you think it has been going for most of May. There have been May spells where the temperature has got into the 30Cs. There were warm May spells in 1992, the second half was very warm and thundery. Mid-May 1998 was very warm and there have been others.

Very nice but not particularly exceptional for most parts.

Following Pietersen's fine for his twitter comment of Nick Knight, does anyone think Pietersen may have point?
