Paul, I think we've been a bit lucky here, all the cells just blew up on our doorstep, had a great view of a cell just passing to my south with probably lightning every 5-10 seconds. Wasn't really expecting it so it was a nice treat!

Good frontal rains in the last few days, with more to come this weekend. Its probably going to help with regards to the drought conditions I'd have thought though on its own its not going to be enough to be able to lift any hosepipe bans, not even close...

I think I'm heading for the hole in the convection, hopefully any rain that does fall won't be so heavy as to ruin any views of the cells to the north and south as they pass...
