  1. I have a Canon T90 with various lenses, including an 100mm Macro, but I haven't used it for years. My everyday camera at the moment is a Pentax Optio 430RS, OK I suppose for point and shoot, but not like an SLR. I keep toying with the Idea of getting a digital SLR, but wouldn't know what to choose. I have read lots of reviews, but still as much in the dark. If I do decide to buy I shall certainly seek help from you guys.
  2. Colin. Sorry unable to offer advice on the Davis, but I had the same thing happen to me with my Oregon humidity sensor. The temperature worked as normal, but the humidity shot up to 98%, (max on OS equipment) and stayed there for 2 weeks. Fortunately it was replaced under warranty. Alan.
  3. I have read on other weather forums where people have had problems when the console is too close to the computer, worth remembering. I must say, I have never had that with my OS, WMR-200, but I have had problems with lack of reception from external sensors.
  4. Perhaps on his station the wind direction indicator is secured to the spindle with a small grub screw and was never tightened. It happened to me with the wind cups when I first had my station. Just a thought.
  5. One other thing to remember, if you are going to site your wind sensor on the roof, ensure that it is at least 5 feet above the ridge, to prevent back eddies caused by the wind hitting the the slope of the roof. Here is a picture of mine.
