I don't know why adults spend hour upon hour in the Model thread.
Surely there are better hobbies? Why spend all that time and emotional energy on an outcome you have absolutely no control over.
Genuinely mentally and physically unhealthy.
I hear you. I haven't seen that it's all gone wrong to be honest so I'll wait and see.
At least with summer storms you get the possiblity no more than 10 days out, so less of a build up to a possible let down.
Everyones happier because of the sun and usually (not always) catching one is a car ride away for the more keen chasers.
With snow the signals and excitement for some starts late autumn. Way to long to be invested in something we have no control over. Just feels bleak at the moment.
I ventured into the Model thread but it's too chaotic.
I ventured into the Model Highlights thread but it's too technical.
I'll hang out here. Just let me know at T12 if I might get snow. Thanks
I'm watching a USA severe weather live feed on YouTube with 36,000 others.
Blizzards, flash flooding, 90 mph wind gusts and tornado warnings.
I wouldn't trade in my 10 minutes of graupel from yesterday for all their excitement.
I can't imagine a worse hobby than snow chasing/Model watching.
They spend hours looking at charts, trying to understand the nuances of all the signals etc but are completely at the mercy of factors out of their control as to a favourable outcome that history dictates rarely happens in the UK.
Seriously bad for mental health and real social interaction.
