June 2014 Weather Photography Competition Entries

Recommended Posts

Post here your photos for the June 2014 weather photography competition.

The rules are:

  • One entry per person. You can post several photos but nominate your entry before the deadline.
  • The photo must be taken during June 2014
  • Photograph must be your own work
  • Entries to be posted by the 7th of July
  • Entries must be related to the weather. Clouds, snow, frost, lightning, sunsets over the sea, mist over the mountains etc. Photos representing the theme of a month - flooding in December, drought in July etc. are also appropriate. Cats on sofas don't count.

After all entries are posted, a poll will be opened where votes are cast. The poll closes after 7 days. The member with the most votes wins the competition. Multiple choice voting is allowed. Get photographing!

I think it might be worthwhile advertising this thread as I only caught it by chance from Bobbys status post on the side.

Hi all,

Pleased to see this comp. back again :)

It will be hard sometimes to choose just one shot to enter.

This one below, 'The coming storm' was taken on my recent hols to

the Clitheroe area of Lancs.

( I also had a shot of the subsequent severe hail !)

Cheers, B.

I like that, good composition with the foreground/midground/background and the light/shade.

I will leave entries open until 7th July, so people have time to select and finish their best photo from the month.

Also you're welcome to post several photos but nominate the one you wish to enter before deadline.

More entries please!

Many thanks .. :)

Ok, I'll now show you what the above black storm clouds delivered.

A hail storm so fierce I was worried it would damage our car, so we were

very cheeky and parked for a few minutes in a strangers barn carport in the

little hamlet we were staying at for our hols.

Here is mine of the beautiful sunset last night. Taken in haste on a camera phone, so it's not anything special, but the colours are gorgeous.

Tend to struggle to decide with things like this, will add a picture of convection to the east producing a localised intense shower on the 28th June:

Though could add this photo of lightning I took overnight 13th-14th west of Farnborough, but because of the rain drops etc I think I'll nominate the the convection image instead (maybe should have chosen the lightning picture below I don't know)

Looks good but do you have a larger photo, that looks like a thumbnail, can't see much!
