I can see the large bank of cloud over you to the north/north west of here; it's breaking up a bit as it moves south east so we still have sunny intervals.

Another very windy night and morning, the current mean speed at 350 m is 37 mph and there was a gust of 66 mph during the early hours of this morning.

Cloud is now clearing here with long sunny spells, but still very blustery.

Beautiful day with almost unbroken sunshine; some cloud/murk appeared on the NW, N and E horizons during the afternoon but it stayed away from here. Must have had about 10 hours sunshine today.

Indeed, almost totally unbroken sunshine here as well today. I was expecting it to cloud over somewhat by now, but it's still crystal clear Posted Image

A settled day here with sunny spells and light winds, this weekend looks interesting as a cold N/E wind will drag much colder air South over the Midlands bringing frosts and the chance of hail/sleet and even Snow for some.

Heavy showers are now pushing through here, the wind should also pick up a little this evening.

Had the odd beefy shower here today.  Missed out on the thunder as it looks like those cells went past to our north and south as usual.....

A pleasant afternoon here with long sunny spells and a light breeze, back to rain tomorrow late afternoon as a cold front pushes S/E and turning much cooler than of late.

I'm hoping for some sleet and snow showers over the next few days so that March 2014 can avoid being the first completely snowless one here in the last 37 years.

The Marches of 1997 and 2011 both had just one day with sleet or snow falling but there have been 7 with no lying snow at all; 1991; 1997; 2000; 2002; 2003; 2010 and 2011.

Frosty here this morning, but blue skies and no wind, so I'm not complaining. I am concerned about my tomatoes which I have in the polytunnel to harden off — bit scared to go and look.
