Made it home safe on my bike just after 5. Had a stop-you-in-your-tracks-when-it-gusts headwind half the way, then turned left and had a massive tailwind the rest of the way. Don't understand that, there was no sideways component on either leg, but I'm sure I only turned 90 degees.

Two trees down at home, one on Wilbraham Road just by the end of my street. Ridge tiles off my roof, grrr! Will pop out with the wheelbarrow and saw later for some logs if it seems safe.

In my neck of the woods...

Northern Rail - Buxton to Manchester Piccadilly - delayed

Delays of up to 30 minutes on Northern Rail between Buxton and Manchester Piccadilly due to obstruction on the line at Whaley Bridge.

And delays between Piccadilly and Stockport due to overhead cabling problems

Had to put the drinking on hold and put out the fire as the smoke from the wood fire blew back down the chimney and filled the house.

Trees are down and the house is now shaking. Just thinking that somethings got to give before long if it keeps up.
