Approaching the bridges to Anglesey, roads not very busy. Had tarp off a lorry fly off over the car. Now HGV going slow in inside lane of A55. I would not want to be a high sides vehicle on this road now let alone latter. Water everywhere in fields as the rain continues to pour down. Rivers running really high. Can only really do 50 safley on the A55 now.

Police car just few past us towards the island

I was expecting the rain to be worse.. However Here we havent had much at all..

Are we thinking a lot of convective rain? The showers behind appear quite potent.. Maybe they will "pep" up when they hit land?

Yes AJ, precisely what I'm watching myself, ominous being the appropriate word. Stay indoors over the next few hours folks if you possibly can.

That's not a secondary low starting is it?

I would hope not.

No that almost looks like an area of rotation associated with a tornado.

Great I'll be picking my kids up from school roughly when the back end reaches here, I hope not to see anything else like that on radar at that time.

Some form of squall I'd imagine, I'm awaiting AJs update as it passes over his area as I'm in line for it too, for me it looks like its behind the main band and might be part of a Wall Cloud, possibly?

That's my thinking, seen similar radar images from the US, looks like strong rotation.

A55 still open for the record! I'm on it now (Brittania bridge) now on Anglesey

Aaaaah I was told both bridges were closing, Chinese whispers I tell you. Although they might close, and you could be trapped on the salty Island for the rest of time.

Anyone know what the preps for RAF valley have been? i'd imagine the RAF would have the foresight to move the aircraft onto more easterly bases last night until the storm passes.

Thanks PS, AJ is onto it and quite frankly even now I'm left wondering what is likely to be/do etc.

My parents can't pick up my sis from school due to downed trees.

UCC in Cork has informed all students to remain inside whatever buildings they're in, too dangerous to leave.

Torrential rain/hail mix as the back edge of the precipitation passed through here, now the sun is out!
